Ingredient
- 1 1/2 lbs cod filets, or any white fish
- Seasoning blend:
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 tsp paprika (reg or smoked)
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice + lemon slices
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the ingredients for the seasoning in a small bowl.
- Cut fish into smaller pieces if desired. Season all sides of the fish with the seasoning.
- Heat 1 Tbsp butter, 1 Tbsp olive oil and 1 lemon slice in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once butter melts, add 1/3-1/2 of the fish to the skillet, avoiding overcrowding the pan by leaving room around each piece. Cook 2 minutes.
- Turn the heat down to medium. Gently flip the fish and lemon slice. Add 1 Tbsp lemon juice to the pan and cook another 3-4 minutes. Test for flakiness and if done, move to plate. Repeat the steps for the remaining fish using.
- Serve with fresh lemon slices and herbs if using. Enjoy!
