Watch this video or read below to find out more details about the CrossFit Open as well as the TriForce Intramural Open
What is the CrossFit Open?
The CrossFit Open is the world-wide event where CrossFitters from all around the world get to do weekly workouts and compare their scores on a world-wide leaderboard. It is the first step for those that are trying to qualify for the CrossFit Games (which is the culmination of the sport of CrossFit each year.) You pay 20$ to be able to see your score against everyone else. You can compare yourself to people in your current fitness level, as well as your age group, or even some fun groups like, if you are a firefighter, how do you stack up against other firefighters.
I suggest that everyone that is interested to sign up for the Open. YOU CAN DO THAT HERE! Even if you don’t have any aspirations of competing, it is really cool to be able to see your percentiles year over year. so you aren’t necessarily competing against others, however, you are seeing if you are maintaining or improving your fitness overall. If you don’t want to sign up, no problem. You can still do the workouts. And if you are a member at TriForce CrossFit, you certainly will be doing those workouts, as discussed below.
What is the TriForce Intramural Open?
If you are a member at TriForce, you have been assigned to one of 3 teams to compete in the Intramural Open. For the duration of the CrossFit Open, you and your team will be competing to win the in-house competition. This is for a year’s worth of bragging rights!
Now, you don’t have to be the fittest person in the gym to be a huge contributor to your team. You will be able to earn points by simply doing the workouts, or by encouraging your teammates on social media, completing weekly challenges, and so much more.
The big event each week is called “Friday Night Lights.” This is a weekly party where we workout together with a crowd cheering you on, hang out with your friends afterwards, and get to know people from the gym that you might not ever meet otherwise. We will do the Open workout on Fridays for all the classes, but we encourage as many people as possible to come to Friday Night Lights to enjoy the experience.
The coaches will start each FNL with a “coaches throwdown,” where the coaches all go head-to-head. We’d love your support, and its awesome to see your favorites coaches suffer🤣🤣🤣
